Well I thought that it was blowing a bit on the drive over but when I arrived at the Estuary at about 11.45am the sand had blown over the road so there were cars parked everywhere.

Parked up and walked onto the estuary and saw Al's van parked up and Al standing by the water.

It was absolutely howling even making walking a bit difficult. Al had been out on a 3.4m and wave board so I knew that I wouldn't be launching in those conditions even though I'd thrown in my 4.5m just in case!

Watch Al for a while doing some maxed out runs and chop hops. The hops looked quite high to me. Then two guys arrived having driven over from Aberdovey and they measured the wind at F7/8 topping out at 40 knots.

Dave and Sarah arrived and we then decided to take a look at the sea front, Al joined us. It was 25 knots off shore and dead flat so we waited an hour for the tide to drop a little before launching.

Rigged my 5.3 Trixx and the Flow. Had some good runs. Al had a multi-cam speed sail which looked fast and locked in. Dave and Sarah then got out and we had some good runs blasting along quite close together. Good fun and a nice session.

I'm starting to feel more comfortable on this board and started going for tacks and gybes. Made a few tacks, not quite there on the gybes yet but working on it!

Overall an interesting day and much better than staying inland.
